On DN1 between Azuga and Predeal, before entering Predeal, right after the bridge over the Prahova river, we have to turn to DN73A towards Rasnov. The first part of the route, until Parul Rece, the stretch of asphalt winds through a wide valley. We pass through a forest and we arrive to Paraul Rece. From here we can see the Postavarul Peak.

Right after Paraul Rece the road starts to descent rapidly, and this is the most spectacular part of the road: you will go from 1050m altitude to 700m in a few kilometers. There are 12 hairpins one after the other. This segment of the road is quite similar with the hairpins near Cheia. Unfortunately we are surrounded by forest so we wont’t be able to admire the landscape.

Once you arrive at the bottom of the valley, the road will follow the valley of the stream Paraul Mic down to Rasnov. This last segment of the route has lots of wide curves and a good road surface. Soon you will be able to see the Rasnov citadel and in the far distance, the Piatra Craiului Mountains.​

This route is a very good alternative if you want to avoid Brasov city and the traffic around it. If you want a very nice tour you can combine this road with the road between Rasnov, Poiana Brasov and Brasov and the road between Brasov and Predeal.
